Bulk-Billed Dental Care for Eligible Children
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule is a Medicare-administered program providing eligible children with access to basic dental services, up to a capped amount over a two-year period. It covers services like check-ups, cleaning, X-rays, fillings, and some extractions, though it doesn’t extend to orthodontic treatment, cosmetic work, or care requiring hospital admission.
Eligibility generally depends on your family receiving certain government payments, such as Family Tax Benefit Part A, and your child needing to be aged between 0 and 17 at some point during the calendar year. Your Medicare account or the Medicare app will show whether your child is eligible and how much of their benefit remains.

The benefit is capped and applies over a two-year period rather than resetting annually, so it's worth checking your child's remaining balance before assuming full coverage is still available. Our reception team can check this for you using your child's Medicare details.
Western Sydney Smiles supports families across St Marys and surrounding suburbs including Mount Druitt, Colyton and Oxley Park. If cost has been the reason your child’s dental care has slipped, it’s worth checking their CDBS eligibility before their next visit.
