Dentist
My name is Dr Sue-Jean Lee, and I provide orthodontic services for the practice. I graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery from the University of Sydney in 2002. I was inspired to choose this career because during high school I loved all the science subjects and also enjoyed interacting with people, so working in the health sciences felt like a great fit for me. One piece of dental advice I always share is that dental decay requires sugar and time—it’s actually better for your teeth to eat 20 chocolate bars in one go and then brush your teeth than to graze on fruits all day (though it might not be better for your body!). Outside of work, I love baking, and if I couldn’t be a dentist, I’d be a pastry chef—perhaps with a toothbrush included as a gift with every dessert. I have a special interest in orthodontics because I enjoy the physics and puzzle-solving aspect of it, I like that it is slow and calm, and I find the results incredibly satisfying. One thing people are often surprised to learn about me is that, despite my height, I play basketball in a social competition.
